About Memorial Day Family Camp – May 23-26, 2025
Start the summer off on the right foot with this relaxed, freestyle approach to camping. This weekend is the most affordable and least structured family camp we run, so you can experience Cascades at your own pace. Come bring your tent or R.V. and stay at Liberty Ridge Campground, or stay in one of our comfortable “rustic plush” lodging options and leave the cooking to us! For this weekend, programming is limited to just one service on Sunday morning, giving you every opportunity to spend the weekend with the ones you love!
Speaker | Peter Sung
Peter’s working life includes being a psychologist, executive coach, author, and speaker. He currently serves the Conference as Conference Coach and Director of Church Planting, and the Covenant as Director of Assessment. He lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with his family where he enjoys learning, running, hiking, and his many other hobbies such as roasting coffee, brewing kombucha, and obsessing about pizza dough.
Worship | Brenden Smith
Brenden is a multi-instrumentalist who loves music, people, and Jesus, and especially loves connecting all three in worship. With over 16 years of serving in multiple Covenant churches, he is very humbled to lead at Family Camp. Although Brenden has an affinity for all humans, his favorite 3 are his wife and 2 daughters that he lives with on Fox Island. Currently, he serves at Harbor Covenant Church in Gig Harbor, WA (he also has a fancy-pants music degree if you’re the kind of person who cares about that stuff).
Our Family Camp Programs
Every family camp program at Cascades has its own distinct atmosphere and design. Memorial Day Family Camp is the most affordable and least structured so you can experience Cascades at your own pace. Independence Day Family Camp is the biggest event of the summer, packed with exciting activities, fun fellowship, dynamic speakers, and amazing worship. Labor Day Family Camp provides a laid-back program, designed to wrap up the summer with all of your favorite parts of camp and some great worship gatherings.
Sign-Up Activities
Adventure Activities Sign-Ups will be online in advance of the start of family camp.
You must be registered for family camp. You will receive instructions, access to the online sign up form, and requirements for each activity via email about two weeks before camp is scheduled to begin.
Sign ups will begin Saturday, May 10th at 9am, and close on Monday, May 19th at 11:59pm. The form must be filled out for each interested member of your family. There is a question on the form that asks you to list your order of preference. Please make sure to answer this question. Please note that filling out the online form does not guarantee a slot and that we will do our best to accommodate your interests given the space available. The Adventure Activities are popular attractions at Cascades which means that the spots for each option will fill up.
Using an advanced online sign up system for our adventure activities allows all family campers an equitable opportunity to enjoy more of what Cascades has to offer. We appreciate your partnership and grace in this effort!

TIERED PRICING MODEL
We say it often, but it deserves to be repeated: we want every individual to have the opportunity to come to Cascades, regardless of their financial situation. This pricing model makes programs at Cascades accessible to families that may not otherwise be able to attend camp. We’re grateful to those who can afford the unsubsidized “true” cost for supporting this effort to broaden our reach as we seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Tier #1 | The unsubsidized “true” cost of camp for families who can afford it.
Tier #2 | A subsidized option (15% off the Tier #1 price) for families who need extra financial assistance to be able to experience Cascades programs.
To apply the Tier #2 option to your registration, use the discount code “tier2fc” for each person you are registering. For families that need additional support, we offer a need-based sponsorship program with an online application process.
