About Wrangler Mentorship Program

Calling all horse-loving high school students! Interested in growing in leadership at Sunrise Ranch? Apply for the Wrangler Mentorship program! You’ll be given opportunities to improve your own riding and handling skills, work with campers and guests, care for horses, complete projects alongside Cascades staff, and grow in your faith. Sessions are available year-round, whether you want to come out for weekend sessions in the fall, winter, and spring, 1-4 week sessions in the summer, or both! Beyond registering, all first-time Wrangler Mentorship students must go through an online application process prior to acceptance.

Fall – Spring

Wrangler Mentorship in the fall, winter, and spring offers three separate sessions of three weekends each. Sessions are from Friday at 7pm, to Saturday at 5pm. Programs are available to high school students grades 9th-12th, and combine skill levels into one, cohesive weekend experience.

Summer

Summer Wrangler Mentorship is available to students grades 10th-12th, and offers three different experiences for various skill levels. Summer applicants should register for their preferred level, and will be notified of their placement once all application materials have been received.

  • Level 1 | Educate
  • Level 2 | Equip
  • Level 3 | Empower

Application Process

All first-time Wrangler Mentorship candidates must complete our application process, regardless of whether they would like to participate in summer or fall-spring programs. Returning applicants need only complete Step 2 (registration).

  • Step 1: Fill out and submit the application.
  • Step 2: Have your parent or guardian register online for your desired  program, and pay the $75 deposit (refundable if not accepted).
  • Step 3: Have a youth pastor, coach, or other mentor fill out the reference form.

You will hear back from us when all forms have been received and reviewed, based upon program capacity and individual qualifications. For summer Wrangler Mentorship, we will also discuss your placement within the three-tiered program. Priority for all programs is given to the most qualified applicants, as space is limited. Cascades reserves the right to select/place applicants based on qualifications and not order applications were received.
